Industrial Rigid Laminated Sheets Based on Thermosetting Resins for Electrical Purposes — Part 1: Definitions, Designations and General Requirements
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 1303 contains the definitions related to, and the general requirements to be fulfilled by, industrial rigid laminated sheets for electrical purposes, made with any of the following resins as the binder: epoxy (epoxide), melamine, phenolic, polyimide, silicone and unsaturated polyester. The following reinforcements may be used either singly or in combination; cellulosic paper, cotton cloth, glass cloth, glass roving, glass mat, polyester cloth and wood veneers.

3 Definitions
3.1
industrial rigid laminated sheets
sheets based on thermosetting resins consisting of superimposed layers of reinforcement that have been impregnated with thermosetting resin and bonded together under heat and pressure to form a single piece
Note: Other constituents, for example colouring matter, may be incorporated.
3.2
epoxy resin/epoxide resin
synthetic resin containing epoxide groups, which is formulated to enable cross-linking
3.3
melamine resin
amino resin made by polycondensation of melamine with formaldehyde or another compound that is capable of providing methylene bridges
