1 Scope
This standard specifies technical requirements of verification and verification methods for filter type smokemeter (hereinafter referred to as smokemeter).
This standard is applicable to verification of motor vehicle safety testing with smokemeter.

3 Technical Requirements
3.1 Appearance and general requirements
3.1.1 The smokemeter shall be provided with clear nameplate with equipment name, model, delivery number, manufacturer's name and delivery date.
3.1.2 Controls such as switch, button, socket and wiring terminal etc. shall be provided with obvious letters or symbols; the symbols shall meet relevant requirements and the controls shall be flexible and reliable free from looseness and binding etc.
3.1.3 As for pointer type of display instrument, its dial shall be clear and the pointer is of zero set with stable and flexible rotation free from binding and run-out etc.; as for digital display instrument, it shall be free from defects with influence in readout.
3.1.4 Sampling probe and conduit shall be free from any cracking, air leakage or blocking. Air pump, paper feeder, compressed air and cleaning system shall be in proper working order.
3.2 Security of electrical systems
3.2.1 The smokemeter shall be provided with protective grounding terminal and clear grounding marks shall be provided near this terminal; protective grounding terminal shall be connected reliably through special flavovirens conducting wires and protective grounding points.
3.2.2 As for the smokemeter with adoption of network source, security of its electrical system shall meet requirements of GB/T 6587.7-1986 for category I safety instruments with the rated operational voltage no more than 500V; and the insulation value shall be no less than 5MΩ.
