1 General Provisions
1.0.1 In order to carry out national technical and economic policies in the construction engineering in expansive soil regions and to realize safety and quality, technical advancement, economic feasibility and protection environment, this code is formulated.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the geotechnical investigation, design, construction and maintenance management of construction engineering in expansive soil regions.
1.0.3 As for engineering construction in expansive soil regions, control measures shall be adjusted to local conditions according to characteristic of expansive soil, engineering requirement, geographic and geomorphic conditions, climate feature and moisture changes in soil by adopting local experiences.
1.0.4 As for geotechnical investigation, design, construction and maintenance management of construction engineering in expansive soil regions, they shall meet not only the requirements specified in this code, but also those specified in relevant current national standards.
