1 Dimensions and Shape
1.1 Diameter and its tolerance
1.1.1 For hot-rolled round steels, the diameter and its permissible tolerance shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1.
The ovality of hot-rolled round steels shall not exceed 70% of this dimensional tolerance.
1.1.2 For forged round steels, the diameter and its permissible tolerance shall meet those specified in "Forged Round and Square Steels- Varieties" (GB 908-72).
1.1.3 For cold-drawn round steels, the diameter and its permissible tolerance shall meet the relevant requirements of Grade 11 Accuracy stated in "Dimension, Shape, Weight and Tolerance for Cold-drawn Round Steels" (GB 905-82).
1.2 Delivery length
The general delivery length of steels is 3~5 m (as for the steels used for multiple position press, their length may be 3~6 m), the steels with length no less than 2 m are allowed to be delivered but their weight shall not exceed 10% of the gross weight of this batch of steels.
1.3 Tortuosity
For the hot-rolled and forged unannealed steels, the tortuosity per meter shall not be larger than 5 mm and the tortuosity of whole stick shall not be larger than 10 mm; for the annealed steels, the tortuosity per meter shall not be larger than 4 mm.
The tortuosity of cold-drawn round steels shall meet the requirements of Grade 11 Accuracy stated in GB 905-82.
1.4 Torsion
The steels shall be free from obvious torsion.
1.5 End shape
The ends shall be sawed evenly and be free from horseshoe, flash, burr and the oblique cutting and flattening that influence application. The steels shall not be machined by gas cutting.
