3 Classification and Designation
3.1 The seamless steel pipes in this standard are divided into two types according to manufacturing methods, and the type and designation are:
a) Hot rolled (extruded and expanded) steel pipes W-H;
b) Cold drawn (rolled) steel pipes W-C.
3.2 Designation of steel consists of two parts, one is the initial capital letters of Chinese phonetic alphabets of "Bi" and "Jia", which mean the crane jib, and the other is the value of the specified minimum lower yield strength or the specified plastic elongation strength.
For example, BJ450
Thereinto,
BJ- the initial capital letters of Chinese phonetic alphabets of "Bi" and "Jia";
450- the value of specified minimum lower yield strength or the specified plastic elongation strength, in MPa.
