1 Scope
This standard specifies safety requirements and measures for design, manufacture and use of hydraulic press for metal cold working.
This standard is applicable to the hydraulic press for metal cold working, that for machining other sheet materials (e.g. paperboard, plastics, rubber and leather) and metal powder, and also applicable to ancillary device connected with the hydraulic press. This standard does not apply to the machinery for the following purposes:
a) Metal plates shearing, e.g. plate shearing machine;
b) Fastening and connection, e.g. riveting;
c) Bending or twisting, e.g. pipe bender, bending machine;
d) Straightening or aligning, e.g. manual straightening hydraulic press;
e) Movable or swiveling head stroking, e.g. turret press, movable head press or movable press;
f) Extrusion, e.g. horizontal profiles extruder;
g) Forge hammer, free forging press;
h) Specific shaping of metal powders, e.g. ultra-high-voltage hydrostatic press;
i) The machinery designed only for punching use, e.g. punching machine for structural members.
