1 Scope
This standard specifies the safety technology and industrial hygiene requirements for ore dressing plants, covering plant siting and plant layout, ore dressing process and tailings facilities, transportation, lifting, electricity, fire protection, etc. of ore dressing plants.
This standard is applicable to ore dressing plants in metallurgical (including nonferrous metals), chemical, building materials and other industries.
This standard may be referenced to for some enterprises adopting ore dressing process.
This standard is not applicable to coal preparation plants and uranium mining and metallurgy plants in nuclear industry.

3 Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following definitions apply.
3.1 ore dressing
an operation process of obtaining one or several relatively enriched useful minerals by separating the useful minerals from the lode minerals in the ore or separating the paragenetic useful minerals from each other under specific process equipment conditions according to differences of different minerals in terms of physical, physicochemical, or chemical properties
3.2 ore dressing plant
land, buildings and workplaces that are or can be used for ore dressing, including ore dressing plants with independent legal persons and ore dressing workshops affiliated to mining enterprises
