1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical performance requirements and test methods of personal eye-protectors.
This standard is applicable to all kinds of personal eye-protectors except those against nuclear radiation, X-ray, laser, ultraviolet, infrared and other radiation.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following definitions apply.

eye-protector
eye and face protective equipment against injuries caused by smoke, chemicals, metal sparks, flying debris and dust
3.2
ocular
light-transmitting parts for preventing harmful factors from damaging eyes
3.3
spectacle
eye-protectors with oculars in frames
3.4
goggle
eye-protectors with single or double oculars installed in the head frame
3.5
face-shield
eye-protectors covering the whole or part of the face
3.6
filter
oculars capable of attenuating incident light intensity
3.7
optical horizontal reference length
length of the central horizontal reference line between the top and bottom of the ocular
3.8
optical vertical height
length of centerline perpendicular to horizontal reference lines of the ocular
3.9
optical central scope
area within 5 mm from the edge of the ocular
3.10
refractive power
vector manifesting the ability of an optical system converging or diverging light beams, with its value being the reciprocal of the focal length of the optical system, represented by the symbol D, and expressed in l/m
3.11
depth of parallelism
