This standard specifies the general principles and to-be-followed technical regulations of the environmental radiological assessment with a view to advancing the scientificalness of environmental radiological assessment and improving the environmental quality to guarantee the radiation safety of the public.
This standard is applicable to the enterprises and public institutions that are engaged in the environmental radiological assessment, and these enterprises and institutions include:
a. Organizations of the nuclear fuel cycle system;
b. Land-based stationary nuclear power plant and nuclear heat power plant;
c. Research or application organizations owning production quantity or operation quantity corresponding the Class A and B laboratories (or operating sites) and discharging radioactive materials to the environment.
