This standard is applicable primarily to steam turbines for driving generator. Some of its provisions are also applicable to steam turbines for other applications.
The purpose of this standard is to make a domestic intending user (purchaser) aware of options and alternatives which he may wish to consider, and to enable him to state his technical requirements clearly to potential suppliers
This standard is applicable primarily to high-capacity condensing turbine plants; other types of steam turbine plants for power generation and small and medium steam turbine unit above 20MW may also refer to it.
