3 Configuration Principles of Microprocessor-based Relay Protection Equipment
3.1 Microprocessor-based relay protection equipment should be the main protection of the protected equipment or lines (including longitudinal and horizontal protection, etc.) and the backup protection integrated in a set of devices, sharing the DC power input circuit and the secondary circuit of the voltage transformer and current transformer. In general, the equipment shall be able to respond to various faults and abnormal states of the protected equipment or lines, and act in tripping or giving a signal.
3.2 According to the requirements of GB 14285, for the equipment or lines that need to be equipped with two sets of main protection, each set should be the microprocessor-based relay protection equipment integrated with main protection and the backup protection equipment. The DC power supply, the secondary circuit of current transformer and voltage transformer of the two protective devices should be independent of each other.
3.3 According to the requirements of GB 14285, for the lines with only one set of main protection, it is advisable to adopt the microprocessor-based relay protection equipment which integrates the main protection and backup protection. If necessary, other backup protection can be added, and two sets of microprocessor-based relay protection equipment integrated with main protection and backup protection can also be considered.
3.4 According to the requirements of GB 14285, for the equipment only equipped with one set of main protection, the microprocessor-based relay protection equipment with independent main protection and backup protection shall be adopted.
3.5 Transformers of 220 kV and above voltage grade and generators of 200 MW and above capacity should be equipped with two sets of microprocessor-based relay protection equipment which integrate the main protection and backup protection together.
3.6 For the line microprocessor-based relay protection equipment suitable for 220 kV and above voltage, it shall meet the following requirements:
