1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements and technical parameters for the operation and maintenance of battery DC power supply equipment (including batteries, charging equipment, and microcomputer monitors) for electric power system, and is applicable to the operation and maintenance of DC power supplies in various departments of electrical power system.
2 Normative references
The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. At the time of publication, all the editions listed are valid. All standards are subject to revision, and all parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below.

3 Terms
In addition to the terminologies specified in GB/T 2900.11 and GB/T 2900.33, the following ones are supplemented:
3.1
first charge
first charge of the new battery, which is performed before delivery to bring the battery into the state of charge, whose working procedure shall be performed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions
3.2
constant current charge
charge with the charging current maintained constant within the charging voltage range
3.3
equalizing charge
charge which is carried out to compensate the uneven voltage of storage generated in the using process and recover the voltage to the specified range
3.4
constant-current limit voltage charge
charge which is carried out in a way with constant current first and, when terminal voltage of the battery pack rises to the limit value, in the way with constant voltage automatically switched to by the charging device until the charge is completed
3.5
floating charge
charge carried out with constant voltage by a charging device whose DC output terminal is always connected in parallel battery and load and which, in normal operation, carries out supplementary charge for battery while undertaking regular loads so as to supplement the self discharge of the battery and keep the battery pack ready for use in full capacity state
3.6
supplementary charge
charge regularly carried out according to the manufacturer's instructions to prevent the capacity from being gradually reduced or even damaged due to self discharge during the battery storage
3.7
constant current discharge
discharge of battery, in which process the discharge current value is always constant until the specified final voltage is reached
