This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for silicone rubber insulation materials for outdoor AC/DC composite insulators with a nominal voltage greater than 1,000V.
This standard is applicable to silicone rubber insulation materials for composite insulators, but not to such insulation materials as silicone oil, silicone grease, RTV coating, epoxy resin, and ethylene propylene rubber.
